Production Director Nathan Evans is set to become the new Managing Director at leading UK electrical contractor Clarkson Evans, taking over from his father Steve Evans.

Thirty-five years after he started the business Steve will move into the part-time role of Chairman and Nathan will step up to become Managing Director.

Nathan joined the company as an 18-year-old apprentice in 1994. After qualifying and running sites for a number of years as a team leader, he then moved into an office-based commercial role. He worked his way up to become a commercial manager before going out on the road in a business development role.

This was a key time for the company, as it expanded its way out of a recession. Nathan’s work was vital in opening doors in new areas and allowing the business to make the most of the opportunities available.

Nathan was promoted to the board in 2011, took on his present role 12 months ago and has helped the company achieve its most successful year ever.

“Nathan’s broad range of experience from production to commercial, together with his unrivalled relationships with some of the most senior people within our industry makes Nathan the ideal candidate to take over from me,” said Steve Evans.

Steve isn’t retiring and intends to remain with the company for many years to come, working on a part-time basis instead.

Clarkson Evans specialises in wiring new homes for the UK’s leading housing developers, wiring around 1 in 10 of all new properties built in England and Wales last year.

In total Clarkson Evans employs around 700 staff and operates across much of southern England, the Midlands and south Wales. Last year the £40m turnover company wired more than16,000 new homes.

The company is expanding rapidly and has launched an extensive recruitment drive for more apprentices throughout the country. Current vacancies can be viewed at www.clarksonevans.co.uk.
