Comedian Dominic Holland congratulated electrical apprentices who recently completed their training with Clarkson Evans at the company’s annual apprenticeship celebration event.

Mr Holland handed out awards to 20 newly qualified electricians from Clarkson Evans at the Apprenticeship Presentation Evening, at the Hatherley Manor Hotel, in Gloucester.

Steve Evans, Managing Director of Clarkson Evans said: “Inviting each former apprentice to the stage to collect their award and witnessing them enjoying their moment in the spotlight makes me feel extremely proud.”

“We don’t just teach apprentices the trade. To us, it’s much more than that – we give them the opportunity to make something of their lives by progressing long-term careers within the company,” he added.

Many of the former apprentices themselves recognise how much they have achieved and several are now beginning to plan for the future, with a long-term career ahead of them.

Shaun Benison from the company’s Trowbridge branch is planning his wedding after qualifying. Jonathan Tavener and Nathan Passmore are able to save towards buying their first home, with Jac Fisher and Joe Staley hoping to follow in their footsteps within the year.

Clarkson Evans has experienced significant growth since the company was established nearly 35 years ago. Now the company has over 700 staff and recruits apprentices across its network of 16 branches. Last year the company wired one in 10 new homes built across England and Wales for national house builders such as Taylor Wimpey, Persimmon Homes, Barratt and David Wilson.

The quality of its apprenticeship training has been recognised nationally, with one of their apprentices, Luke Mullan, being named as ‘Apprentice of the Year’ at the Electrical Industry Awards 2015. The company was also named as a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer at this year’s National Apprenticeship Awards.
