about the course:
This four-week intensive electrical course has been designed to provide electrical knowledge and skills for those wishing to begin a new career in the electrical industry.

With a mixture of theory and practical training you will learn all the essentials you need to get started.

pre-requisites:
This course is suitable for those who hold no formal qualifications.

Ideally, candidates should have some practical skills. A basic knowledge of electrical installations would be advantageous.

During the course candidates will be given the opportunity to achieve the following industry-recognised qualifications:

Alongside the recognised qualifications the following topics are covered:

Dangers of electricity
Introduction to testing
Lighting systems
Introduction to intruder alarms
Heating systems

Next steps

Those with suitable experience can register on a Part P Competent Person Self Certification scheme. This would enable you to self-certify your work without the need of the local authority building control.

On completion of the course we recommend gaining further on-site experience by working with a qualified electrician.
