Clarkson Evans pledges to recruit 50 apprentices in Gloucester in 2016

We are one of the sponsors of Apprentice 1000, a Gloucestershire-based campaign designed to promote and encourage the creation of 1,000 new county-based apprentices during 2016.

 

The 12-month campaign, being run in conjunction with the Gloucester Citizen and Gloucestershire Echo newspapers is designed to encourage more young people to consider an apprenticeship, whilst at the same time providing information to companies and organisations thinking of employing an apprentice for the first time.

 

We’ve been employing apprentices for more than 30 years and have a strong reputation for offering long-term careers through our in-house training programme.

 

Later this month we will discover whether we have won the large employer award at the National Apprenticeship Awards being held in London on January 26.

 

“Other employers often approach us for advice about setting up an apprenticeship programme for the first time and we’re always happy to share our experiences and help in any way we can,” said Lindsey Young, HR & Training Director.

 

“Over 70% of our current team leaders and managers joined our company as apprentices. The sky’s the limit for talented apprentices who often achieve promotion to become team leaders and area managers after qualifying as electricians. We’re a close knit team and because many of our staff are former apprentices they are really supportive of those starting out on their electrical careers,” added Lindsey.
