1. Afternoon Live With Kay Burley
October 08 |
|
It all started with a focus on the sudden downturn in the industry. During a live interview that followed the report, our Managing Director, Steve Evans told Kay Burley: “It’s important that we don’t make things seem worse than they are in what is, after all, a crisis of confidence.” |

2. Sunrise with Mark Longhurst
November 08 |
|
| Sky’s second report was another live interview with Steve Evans in Worcester city centre. It focused on the 1.5% cut in interest rates. Steve commented: “Comparisons are often made between where we are now and the early 90s, but what we need to remember is that in 1990 interest rates were 15%.” |

3. Live at Five with Jeremy Thompson
December 08 |
|
| Following another cut in interest rates we appeared in a report about the housing market and Steve said: “…this will increase pressure on lenders…. so all in all it’s good news.” |

4. Sky Today with Dermot Murnaghan
January 09 |
|
During the deepest depths of the recession Sky returned to see how we were coping. Steve made the point that: “What we need more than anything is an injection of confidence…. We need to stand up and say yes, it has been bad, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.”

5. Sunrise with Eamon Holmes
October 09 |
|
|
By the time the Sky News team returned to us for their most recent visit, things were thankfully getting back to normal. We’d just recruited 18 apprentices and Steve was able to say “It’s been very difficult for us – at worst business was down by half…. but that’s all behind us now…. we’re a leaner, fitter company and going forward we’re going to start prospering again.”
