Overview

This popular course, which can be delivered in Gloucester and Birmingham, teaches you how to test portable appliances. You’ll learn the electrical theory needed to understand portable appliance testing as well as the practical knowledge to carry out visual and practical inspection.

For electricians this could be another ‘string to your bow’ or the course is also suitable for non-electricians looking to master this important procedure. Although theory based, the PAT course includes a practical assessment using test instruments.

Successful delegates will receive an industry recognised City & Guilds certificate – City & Guilds 2377-22 which enables you to demonstrate your competence in PAT testing and is suitable for most people’s requirements.

For an additional fee of £65 VAT you can also take the City & Guilds 2377-32 PAT management qualification. This qualification is geared towards maintenance managers or supervisors who are required to manage the PAT testing of appliances for an organisation as well as being able to simply carry out the PAT testing.
