Clarkson Evans has bolstered its commitment to cyber security after joining The Cyber Club. Backed by extensive research combined with support from Gloucestershire Constabulary, The Cyber Club ensures businesses become cyber safer.

The Cyber Club is the brainchild of professor Richard Benham, one of the world’s foremost cyber and digital experts and Angela Edwards a leading figure within the business community.

As members of the club, Clarkson Evans will also have access to the latest cyber news, receive regular industry updates and gain improved knowledge on the ever-increasing threat posed to businesses.

Membership to the club means Clarkson Evans has a direct line to Professor Benham, the world’s first formal professor of Cyber Security Management. Richard will provide the company with the expertise and guidance as well as access to world class training for its staff.

“We take our commitment to cyber security extremely seriously and being a part of The Cyber Club enables us to stay even more protected by being better informed,” said Operations Director Darren Turley, pictured with Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Chris Brierley.

“Our membership not only acts as a deterrent to those who may want to target us, but also as a sign of assurance to our staff and customers that cyber security is one of our top priorities,” continued Darren.

Gloucestershire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Martin Surl, who was the first PCC in the country to make cyber security a police priority and who is supporting the project said, “The internet has opened up a whole new world of opportunity the benefits of which are endless. Unfortunately, it also has a dark side which has made people vulnerable both at home and at work.

“It’s vital we do all we can to stamp out criminal behaviour on the internet wherever it occurs. The Cyber Club offers help, support and guidance to those who find themselves targeted”.

As members, Clarkson Evans received a life sized ‘Cyber Citizen’ – a visual reminder to staff and visitors of the importance of cyber security within their business.

The membership follows a recent training scheme at the firm’s Staverton HQ, where all head office staff undertook cyber security training.

The Cyber Club also work alongside big names including Barclays and The Premier League. More information about The Cyber Club can be found at www.thecyberclub.org
