Comedian Justin Moorhouse congratulated apprentices who recently completed their training with Clarkson Evans at the company’s latest apprenticeship celebration event.

Mr Moorhouse handed out awards to 26 former electrical and business administration apprentices at the Apprenticeship Presentation Evening at the Hatherley Manor Hotel in Gloucester on Friday 13th April.

Nathan Evans, Managing Director of Clarkson Evans said: “As a former Clarkson Evans apprentice myself I know first-hand how hard our staff work to qualify as electricians. Inviting each “graduating” apprentice to the stage to collect their award and witnessing them enjoying their moment in the spotlight makes me feel extremely proud.

“This awards evening also saw two of our former business administration apprentices celebrate their qualification and I’m delighted to say both have moved into permanent roles in our commercial and training teams.”

Many of the former apprentices themselves recognise how much they have achieved, and several are now beginning to plan, with a long-term career ahead of them.

Former Newent Community School student, now qualified electrician Dominic Tye said: “I’ve looked forward to this night throughout my training. I’ve really grown up during my apprenticeship and I’m much more mature and independent now. I know I’ve got a bright future ahead of me as an electrician and I’m really grateful to Clarkson Evans.”

Clarkson Evans has experienced significant growth since the company was established more than 35 years ago. Now the company has over 850 staff and takes on apprentices across its network of 18 branches.

Last year the company wired more than 19,000 homes, that’s one in 10 new homes built across England and Wales for national house builders such as Taylor Wimpey, Persimmon Homes, Bovis Homes, Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes.
