Jack Bradley

Team Leader

Jack discovered his passion for electrics when he spent his weekends as an electrician’s mate. At the time Jack worked full time at the shower giant Kohler Mira, but knew he wanted to pursue his interest in electrics so decided to apply for an apprenticeship.

Now three years down the line, Jack is a fully qualified electrician and his hard work and determination even saw him become an Apprentice of the Year finalist at the Gloucestershire Apprenticeship Awards.

“I made the most of every opportunity to learn during my apprenticeship and ensured my NVQ work was always up-to-date, as well as squeezing in 30 minutes of studying in the evenings,” said Jack.

After he qualified Jack decided to take advantage of the company’s relocation package by moving from his home town of Gloucester to Bracknell. The package enables qualified electricians to live rent and bill free in a company house in set locations across the country, as well as being instantly promoted to a Grade 3 Team Leader.

“I wasn’t committed to staying in Gloucester so I thought I’d throw myself in at the deep end to see whether I’d got what it takes to be in charge of my own sites and take the responsibility of supervising apprentices.”

“Although it’s been a big learning curve there’s plenty of support available and I have no regrets about the move.”

Now Jack is managing multiple sites and can’t complain at the money he’s earning – a large proportion of which is being saved towards buying his first home.

“I’m making the most of the opportunities I’ve been given and have learnt so much during my apprenticeship and post qualification. I’d encourage others to take the plunge as the benefits are well worth it!”
