All applicants will have to successfully complete an initial assessment before being accepted onto the course. All students must be at least 18 years old to attend the course.

Delegates should have ideally completed the City & Guilds 2392–10 qualification beforehand however it is essential that candidates have previously passed the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations course and are able to provide a copy of their certificate before enrolling on the 2391 - 52 course.

2391 - 52: Combined initial verification and periodic inspection and testing

  1. One multiple choice 'open book' online exam - 60 questions to be completed in two hours.
  2. One combined practical assessment to be completed in three hours.
  3. One written 'open book' assignment - four short answer questions to be completed in two hours.

The City & Guilds 2391 suite of qualifications replaces the 2394 and 2395. The 2391 qualification isn't altogether a new qualification, instead it's recently  been redesigned and reintroduced to better reflect the needs of the industry, allowing qualified electricians to gain the necessary skills for inspecting and testing wiring systems in accordance with BS7671.

The 2391 - 52 is a combined qualification incorporating both initial and periodic inspection and testing. The 2391 - 52 replaces the former 2394/2395 course and represents best value for money as the assessments only need to be done once to achieve the full qualification.

Successful completion of the 2391 - 52 combined qualification will help you to meet the criteria for obtaining your JIB gold card as an Approved Electrician.

The course is entirely theory-based. However, if you need to brush up on your practical testing skills before taking the practical assessment, we do offer a separate practical refresher day.
