Regional Health & Safety Advisor

Job Title
Regional Health & Safety Advisor

Regional Health & Safety Advisor

Full Time Role
£35k plus company vehicle or car allowance

With over 600 site-based staff working across 350 housing developments throughout much of England and Wales, maintaining strong health and safety is an integral part of our business.  We've got a first-class track record - no reportable major incidents in 39 years of business and this year we won a RoSPA President’s Award.

Based at our Bracknell office, you will work under the guidance of our Head of Health & Safety. You'll be visiting client sites working to prevent incidents, injuries and health problems in the workplace as well as ensuring that our branch premises across the region are safe, healthy places for our employees to work. You'll assist in the creation, implementation, review and interpretation of policies and procedures ensuring everyone in your region is compliant.

Construction is a no-nonsense industry, so you'll need to have a positive attitude, be confident in your approach and not be afraid of challenging existing behaviours and practices. You will also be required to liaise with our clients’ site management teams to keep them appraised of H&S strategies which we implement and maintain essential documentation which is required on all of our live projects.

You'll need to hold a NEBOSH National General Certificate and/or NEBOSH Construction Certificate, together with membership of either IOSH or IIRSM.  Construction industry knowledge is an advantage but not essential; your experience could come from manufacturing or another relevant industry but an ability to learn quickly and think on your feet is a must.

A bit more about us…
Maybe you’ve heard of us, maybe you haven’t. What you may not know is that we’re one of the biggest electrical contractors in the UK. We’ve got 22 branches and last year alone, we wired more than 21,000 new homes. With a booming order book and an enviable apprentice training academy, we’ve got ambitious plans for expansion into the north and the east of the country. We’re the contractors of choice for the largest and most respected construction companies in the UK and in our 39 years in business, we’ve picked up more than a few awards.

We're a big company, but we're surprisingly social - you'll be treated to an annual day at the races, team or branch nights out during the year, and if you have children in your family, you'll all be invited to our grand Christmas party.

Working hours will be based on a 39-hour week, Monday to Friday, with a focus on early starts and an early finish on Fridays. Holiday entitlement starts at 22 days, increasing to 26 days with length of service, plus the opportunity to buy up to five days more.

Applications will close as soon as we have enough strong applications to commence interviews in each area, so early applications are advised.

Please read these instructions carefully before starting your application.
