If you’re looking to start a long-term career in an office-based role with bags of potential for progression, this new position in customer care could be the ideal opportunity.

We specialise in wiring new homes for all of the UK’s leading housebuilders.  In the last year we’ve wired almost 20,000 properties – that’s one in 10 of all the new homes built in England and Wales.  Achieving this volume of installations requires a slick operation, not just out on site but also behind the scenes at our head office.  That’s where you’ll come in.

Based at our Anson Business Park premises in Staverton, Gloucester, you’ll join a busy team that’s responsible for delivering excellent customer service.  Day-to-day duties include:

  • Handling incoming enquiries from home owners and builders, making sure they all get dealt with promptly
  • Maintaining regular contact via telephone and email with home owners and builders to develop strong working relationships
  • Arranging for engineers to visit customers’ homes , ensuring that appointments are scheduled to make efficient use of time
  • Progressing matters from initial enquiry to job completion
  • Raising invoices for chargeable works and resolving any invoice queries
  • Ensuring that records of customer care jobs are scanned and filed appropriately

In order to be accepted onto the apprenticeship programme you’ll need to have or be expecting to gain:

  • GCSE grade 4/C or above in English or equivalent
  • Grade 3/D or above in maths or equivalent
  • At least two grade 3s/Ds in any other subject 

To be successful in the role, you’ll need:

  • to be a team player with a naturally flexible approach
  • confidence to speak to customers on the phone
  • to pay close attention to detail and takes pride in getting things right first time
  • strong Microsoft Office skills
  • to be a quick learner, who’ll adapt to using our in-house software.

There’s a strong sociable spirit in our customer care team and it’s very much a work hard, play hard culture, so to make a real success of this opportunity you’ll need to be someone who’s willing to put the hours in when there’s a deadline to meet but also keen to get involved when it’s time have a bit of fun.    

After completing the apprenticeship there are plenty of opportunities for progression within Clarkson Evans.

Working hours will be 39 hours a week, based on 8 hours a day Monday to Thursday and 7 hours on Fridays, with an hour for lunch each day.

There’s free parking on site and our offices are a short walk from the number 94 bus route between Cheltenham and Gloucester.
