We’re very much a people-based company, with an 850-strong workforce that we rely on to deliver a first-class service to our customers. Attracting and selecting the right people to help us grow our business is right at the top of our list of priorities and that’s why we’re now looking for a recruitment expert to take on this new role and help us keep pushing the envelope.

Joining an HR team of six, you will be provided support from a recruitment administrator who will be your direct report.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working with managers to understand resource requirements and ensure the development of recruitment strategies that meet both current and future needs
  • Making sure the end-to-end experience we offer to applicants is second to none. We care deeply about our reputation as an employer and we want to impress everyone who applies
  • Liaising with our marketing and communications team to produce recruitment adverts and actively manage their publication
  • Line management and coaching of our recruitment administrator
  • Collaborating with our organisational development manager to produce job descriptions when required
  • Overseeing our recruitment, onboarding and induction processes, ensuring they are updated in line with best practice and recruitment legislation
  • Providing guidance for other managers on recruitment strategies and interview techniques
  • Interrogating our selection processes to make sure we’re genuinely selecting applicants with the right skills, attitude and personality to be successful and live our values.
  • Evaluating the success and cost of all recruitment campaigns

Skills, experience and attributes:

Applicants must have:

  • Significant in-house recruitment experience
  • Detailed, up to date knowledge of recruitment legislation
  • Broad knowledge of applicant screening tools
  • Strong people management skills
  • Strong numeracy, literacy, analytical and IT skills (particularly Word and Excel)
  • The ability to deal with complexity, handle multiple tasks and respond positively to change
  • A team oriented, flexible and committed approach
  • Commercial awareness
  • A full UK driving licence

 The following would also be desirable:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification
  • Experience of recruitment in construction or a similar sector
  • Experience of using Sage People Recruit or similar cloud based recruitment software
  • Knowledge in the use of social media for recruitment

The role is based at our head office in Staverton, Gloucester but you’ll also need to travel to our other branches occasionally if required.

Our normal working hours are 39 hours a week, Monday to Friday, including an early finish on Fridays. Holiday entitlement is 26 days.
